Manual Therapy
Skilled, hands-on treatment to restore joint mobility, reduce soft tissue restriction, and reduce pain — integrated in session as a clinical tool.
Joint Mobilization & Manipulation
When a joint stops moving the way it should — whether from an old injury, tightness, or just years of use — the muscles around it start to compensate. Over time those compensations lead to pain, stiffness, and a higher chance of getting hurt. Joint mobilization is a hands-on technique where Dr. Bokash applies controlled, gentle force to the joint itself to help it move freely again. Most people feel the difference immediately.
It is not painful. The goal is to restore the normal, small gliding motions that allow a joint to move through its full range without pain. Once those motions are restored, the surrounding muscles can finally do their job correctly again — and that is when real progress starts.
Soft Tissue Mobilization
Tight muscles and restricted tissue are not just uncomfortable — they prevent joints from moving the way they should and make exercise less effective. Soft tissue massage works directly on the muscle and connective tissue to reduce tightness, improve flexibility, and help the area respond better to exercise. Dr. Bokash uses hands-on massage techniques and instrument-assisted tools to work through restrictions that are limiting your movement. The goal is always the same: get the tissue to a state where loading and movement can actually create lasting change.
What Manual Therapy Addresses
Joint Stiffness
Targeted mobilization to restore arthrokinematics in hypomobile joints — commonly the hip, shoulder, thoracic spine, and ankle.
Soft Tissue Restriction
Hands-on work to address fascial adhesions, overuse-related tightness, and post-injury scarring that limits movement and loads adjacent structures.
Pain Modulation
Manual techniques that engage neurological pain-inhibition pathways, reducing sensitization and allowing more effective movement-based treatment.
Surgical Scar Tissue
Graded scar mobilization to restore tissue mobility after surgical procedures — an often-overlooked component of post-op rehabilitation.
